A little more about us

My name is Jeanne and I invite your pets to stay at my home

I’ve loved and cared for animals for as long as I can remember. As adult, I’ve been a volunteer at several animal shelters, as well as the Toronto Wild Life Centre. I’ve fundraised with friends to neuter, spay, and find furrever homes for stray cats.

Over the years, several friends have relied on me to pet-sit their pups, kitties, and bunnies. I’m experienced with senior and special-needs pets. My latest dog, Willy (aka Grumpy Willy) lived a long, happy life. He was 17 and a half when he gained his wings. I’ve been a dog mom for over 20 years and decided to board pets professionally after Willy left us.

Being a pet sitter has allowed me not only to share my love of animals but also has help to fill that emptiness that a departed pet leaves forever inside us. There’s still so much time and affection I wish to share with these sweet angels. It will be a pleasure to host them!

Jeanne

I’m well trained and learn quickly. My dogs have taught me to obey commands like “open the backyard door”, “give me a treat, belly rub, or play with me”. They take me on adventurous walks where I can watch them run and have fun. And I know my place! It’s that little corner left on my couch where I’m sure I’m not taking too much space so the pup can spread out whenever they feel like it. 😁

Pedro - Grumpy Willy

Pedro

Hi! I’m Pedro, Jeanne’s husband and the half of Grumpy Willy Pet Boarding. Since I was a kid, there was always dog at home, so I was thrilled when, soon after we started dating, Jeanne adopted a little rescue mutt, Isis, to complete our family. I knew she’d be the best mom Isis could ask for.

But Jeanne felt the family still wasn’t complete, so after couple of fosters, I got her little Yorkie, Willy, for Christmas, and what gift he was! We moved around quite a bit, the four of us, but always together, until Isis to leave us, and Willy became “grumpy”. Eventually, we also had to say goodbye to him, but all the love learned from still here with us, ready to shared with all guests and furry friends at Grumpy Willy.

Our home

Grumpy Willy is located in the Port Union neighbourhood, also known as Centennial Scarborough, in the south-east corner of Toronto, We are very close to parks and the lake, plus the waterfront walking paths – ideal for nice strolls and playtime outside.

Our house is bright, safe and climate-controlled. Your pup will never be too warm or too cold in here. They have supervised access to our fenced backyard any time they want.

When your pup is here, they are our family. They can go on the couch and sleep in the bedroom (and sometimes even on our bed) with us, depending on what they are used to and what makes them more comfortable. Each pup has their own bed, bowl, and an extensive variety of toys to choose from and play with.

OUR MISSION

We provide top-quality boarding and daycare services (mainly for small dogs), so your pet is as comfortable and happy with us as they are at home!
